無料で試聴できた方がCDの売り上げが良くなる、という話は前から言われてて、そういう研究結果もわんさかある。でも実際音楽市場全体の売上が下がってるっつう現実もある。この一見矛盾する状態を綺麗に説明するにはどうしたらええんぢゃろ、と考えてみた結果、こういう仮説が頭にひらめいたわけだ。

* 本当に金を稼げるコンテンツは、無料で試聴などできれば売り上げが上がる
* そうでないコンテンツは、無料で試聴とかできると逆に売上が下がる
* 今の市場に溢れているのは、後者のコンテンツが大半
